Meeting of the CETU’s Scientific Council: unanimous agreement on the actions conducted in 2025 and the programme for 2026!
The CETU’s Scientific Council met on 27th January 2026, to review the organisation’s research activities and its production of guidelines for the profession. Following a presentation of the context and key events of 2025, discussions focused on five key themes:
- Estimating the advance rates and assessing the environmental impacts of tunnel boring machine excavation,
- The benefits of digital transformation,
- Cybersecurity in road tunnels,
- Managing incidents related to new energy carriers.
The CETU warmly thanks the members of the Council for their expert insight and contributions, which helped to confirm the 2026 programme of actions and identify emerging topics, such as artificial intelligence. The quality and quantity of the work, given the modest number of CETU staff, were praised by all participants.
