A highly active geotechnics community within our ministries!
The 2025 Geotechnics Days organised by the interministerial Scientific and Technical Network (RST) were a resounding success!
Organised on 5th and 6th November 2025 by Cerema, the CETU and Gustave Eiffel University, the first half-day was open to the public and welcomed just over 200 people. This first half-day began with presentations by the management of these three organisations, who reiterated the importance of geotechnics in successfully implementing public land use planning policies.
This was followed by several technical presentations on the theme of ‘On-site geotechnical measurements : from field modelling to site monitoring’.
The CETU’s research work (resulting from multiple collaborations, notably with ENTPE and Cerema) was the subject of two presentations: one devoted to the assessment of small deformation modules, and the other to vibrations induced by tunnel boring.
All presentations will be made available on the Cerema website.
The following day and a half was open to members of the interministerial scientific nework only (with 100 to 150 participants) and showcased the diversity of topics addressed within our organisations. Two presentations were given by the CETU, one on the numerical modelling of displacements induced by tunnel boring machines and the other on the geological model of the Saint-Cloud tunnel.
Many thanks to the presenters and participants for their constructive questions!
