A look back at the workshop on ‘New digital tools in underground works’

Project owners, design offices, construction companies and operators gathered for a workshop at CETU on 1stJuly 2025 to discuss the use of BIM, digital twins, virtual reality and artificial intelligence in underground structures, which are topics of growing importance.

This workshop was organised in collaboration with AFTES.*

From the design of an underground structure to its operation, there were numerous case studies, highlighting the considerable benefits of these technologies for the profession, as well as the current obstacles to be overcome in order to further expand their deployment. It was also an opportunity to discuss the expectations of project owners and examine the regulatory context surrounding the use of AI.

The CETU warmly thanks the 80 participants who attended despite the intense heat, and to the speakers for their highly informative presentations!
