Who are we?

The CETU, (Centre for Tunnel Studies), is a technical body of the Ministry of Transport, under the management of the Directorate-General for Infrastructure, Transport and Mobility. It is a resource, expertise and research centre based in Bron, near Lyon, France.

For more than 50 years, CETU has been supporting professionals in the tunnel and underground space sector: project owners, operators, engineering firms and contractors. With its multidisciplinary approach, it is involved in all phases of projects, from design to construction, operation and asset management. Its specialised expertise covers safety, equipment and civil engineering aspects applied to all categories of transport tunnels and other underground spaces.

In addition to its technical and consultancy activities, CETU facilitates exchanges within the professional community and plays a major role in France and abroad in the dissemination of knowledge and best practices.
