A leaflet to accompany the CETU guide on Safety Management Systems for road tunnels
In December 2025, the CETU published a methodological guide to assist tunnel operators wishing to establish a Safety Management System (SMS) for their road tunnels.
This document is now supplemented by a leaflet outlining the key concepts of the SMS, from its definition to a description of its components and the stages involved in its development.
A valuable tool to help operators make an informed decision about embarking on such a process, this concise document is made available to organisations to enable them to quickly grasp the key issues surrounding the SMS.
The SGS Guide, along with the accompanying leaflet, is currently being translated and will be available in English before the end of 2026. Watch this space!
